I have an experiment for those that believe the melting of polar ice (a natural process) is the reason New Orleans or Florida coast is losing ground.... Take a plastic disposable cup. Fill it with ice. Put water in until the ice is fully floating and mark the water line with Sharpie. Shouldn't the melting of the ice above the water level raise the level in the cup? If the above talking point is real it would, but it is not true. Why? Displacement. The North pole has a higher level of NaCl in the ice while the South pole is pure H2O. So when the polar ice melts it changes the saline level of the ocean water directly around the iceberg or polar ice. If you see how the ice has been melting since the end of the ice age and compute the actual area of the ice fields, the melting has actually slowed...ALOT. The "global warming disaster" that the left has fallen for, is very much bogus, a lie. It has been regurgitated since the 60's. |
