(I posted this earlier as a response, but I guess it should have been a new "Main Topic".)
I believe in free enterprise with businesses able to make profits. But I have a problem with the way our current health care works. It seems wrong for a company to make huge profits on someone's illness. The more a health insurance company denies coverage, the more profit the company makes. I read that the president of United Health Care paid himself 12 million dollars last year! At the same time, many people have had to go into bankruptcy because a family member got cancer and they were denied coverage from the insurance companies.
I sure hope congress does something soon to limit the power of the insurance companies! |
